Silver Seized from Car After Police Chase

Chittorgarh, May 14: The police in Chittorgarh made a significant breakthrough during a highway blockade, seizing approximately 20 kilograms of silver in the form of eight bars from a car. Two young men were arrested for transporting the silver without valid documents.

According to police reports, during a blockade at Dhanet Pulia on Wednesday, an Alto car traveling from Neemuch to Udaipur was signaled to stop. However, the driver attempted to break through the barricade and flee. The police team pursued the vehicle, managed to halt it, and conducted a search.

Upon inspection, they discovered eight silver bars weighing a total of 19.802 kilograms. The individuals in the car, identified as Mohammad Idrish, son of Ghafoor Baksh Sheikh from Kheroda, Udaipur, and Mayank Kumar Soni from Amarpura, Kheroda, currently residing in Rawalipol, Bhinder, were unable to provide any valid documentation for the silver. Consequently, the police seized the silver and arrested both men on charges of disturbing the peace.

Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi stated that an investigation is underway to determine the source of the silver and its intended destination. Initial inquiries suggest a possible connection to theft or illegal activities.
