Udaipur, May 14: The road construction from Jawan Ji Ka Khera to Model School, approved under the DMFT scheme, has become a source of frustration and anger for villagers in the district. The project, costing approximately ₹55 lakh for a 1.5-kilometer stretch, remains incomplete. Locals allege that only about 40% of the road has been constructed with concrete, while the rest has merely been left with a layer of cement.
According to villagers, the concrete road that was built has started to crack and break in several places within a short time, raising concerns about the quality of the construction. They claim that the road was supposed to be completed in 2025, but the work is still unfinished. Despite the information board displaying the cost, construction agency, and completion timeline, the on-ground situation contradicts these details.
This road is crucial for students, farmers, and residents of the area. During the monsoon, the path turns into a muddy mess, causing significant difficulties for children heading to school and for patients needing medical attention. Villagers had hoped that the road would resolve a long-standing issue, but the incomplete and substandard construction has dashed their expectations.
Local residents are demanding a fair investigation into the construction work and action against those responsible. They have warned that if the road construction is not completed soon, they will resort to protests. Their message is clear: development work should not remain limited to paperwork but should provide real benefits to the community.
