Udaipur, May 13: A shocking incident of public violence occurred in Udaipur’s Hiranmagri police station area on Monday evening, where a young man was assaulted over a love affair. Attackers arrived in a car and on motorcycles, surrounding the victim and beating him with kicks and punches on the 100 Feet Road in Mali Colony. In a desperate attempt to save himself, the young man fled into a nearby clothing store, but the assailants followed him there, continuing their assault and vandalizing the shop.
Local shopkeepers and bystanders intervened to rescue the victim and alerted the police. The young man revealed that he had married his girlfriend on March 16, 2026, which had angered some individuals from the girl’s side and the community, leading to the attack.
Hiranmagri police station officer Ravindra Charan stated that the police arrived at the scene to control the situation. They are currently identifying the attackers based on CCTV footage and will make arrests soon.
