Udaipur, May 31: Residents of Udaipur received significant relief from the sweltering heat early Saturday morning as the weather took a pleasant turn. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds was reported in the city and surrounding areas, leading to a drop in temperature and a refreshing atmosphere. This rainfall came as a welcome respite after several days of scorching heat.
Heavy Rain on the Highway
On the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway, a heavy downpour lasted for about 20 minutes in the Barapal-Paduna area of the T.D. region. The rain caused water to accumulate on the service road near Barapal, and reduced visibility forced drivers to use headlights during their journey. The effects of the rain were also felt in various parts of the city, with strong winds accompanying the showers.
Traffic Disruption Due to Fallen Trees
In Vallabhnagar town, traffic was temporarily disrupted on the Udaipur-Vallabhnagar main road due to a large tree that fell. Additionally, strong winds caused branches to break and dust to swirl in several locations. Rain was also reported late at night in the Salumber area, with clouds lingering until morning.
Weather Forecast for the Coming Days
According to meteorological experts, the weather in Mewar has changed due to the influence of a western disturbance and local weather activities. For the next two to four days, cloudy skies, strong winds, thunderstorms, and a continued drop in temperature are expected, providing relief from the heat in the region.
