Police Bust Gang Behind Daylight Robbery in Udaipur

Udaipur, May 29: The police have successfully apprehended a gang responsible for the daylight robbery of a gold necklace from an elderly woman in the Sukher police station area of Udaipur. Four suspects, including the gang’s main leader, have been arrested, and the stolen gold necklace along with the motorcycle used in the crime has been recovered.

According to the police, the incident occurred on May 26, 2026, when Arjunlal Dangi, a resident of Bhuvana, reported that his grandmother, Dali Dangi, was sitting alone outside their home. Around 4:30 PM, two young men on a motorcycle threatened her and snatched a gold necklace weighing approximately 4 to 5 grams before fleeing the scene.

In response to the seriousness of the incident, the police formed multiple teams to review CCTV footage, activated their informant network, and conducted raids based on technical and human intelligence. During the investigation, three suspects involved in the robbery were arrested.

During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they had sold the stolen necklace to jeweller Manohar Singh, who has also been arrested, and the necklace was recovered from his possession. The motorcycle used in the crime has also been seized.

The arrested individuals include Suresh from Bhuvana, Ravi and Neeraj from Dev Magri, and jeweller Manohar Singh from the Badgaon area. The operation was led by Sukher Station House Officer Bharat Yogi, with significant contributions from Sub-Inspector Devi Lal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Narayan Singh, and Constables Shimbhuram, Achalaram, and Rajkumar.
