Udaipur, May 19: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) named Sunil Vishnoi, stationed at the Pratap Nagar police station, has been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of one lakh rupees. This incident has brought to light previous controversies surrounding him. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) revealed that Vishnoi was demanding the bribe under the threat of implicating a complainant in a rape case.
On Sunday evening, the ACB team caught him red-handed in the parking lot of Orbit Resort in Shobhagpura. During the operation, Vishnoi attempted to evade capture by justifying his actions.
According to sources, multiple complaints have been filed against ASI Sunil Vishnoi in the past. He has faced allegations of releasing suspects in serious cases, irregularities in investigations, and intimidating individuals by leveraging his connections with senior officers. He was previously suspended while serving as a head constable and was later reassigned to the DSP office after being found negligent in two separate cases.
Active on Social Media and in Films
Sunil Vishnoi has also gained attention on social media, reportedly having around 51,000 followers on his Instagram account, where he posted reels and videos in police uniform. He played a police officer in the film ‘Saagwan,’ based on an incident in Pratapgarh district. The ACB stated that he sought a bribe in exchange for not taking action in a case of attempted rape and harassment. Following a complaint, the ACB set a trap and arrested him.
