
Udaipur, June 4: The term of Professor Colonel S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, has been extended by one year under the provisions of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Chancellor, Bhawarlal Gurjar, announced this decision, highlighting that under Professor Sarangdevot’s leadership, the university has established a distinctive identity both nationally and internationally over the past 14 years. This decision was made considering the continuity of academic activities and the development of the institution.
The Chancellor noted that the institution, which began in 1937 with just three rupees and a rented building by Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar, has now transformed into a vast educational establishment with an annual budget of 80 crore rupees and over 10,000 students. The university currently operates more than 69 UGC-recognized courses.
Under Professor Sarangdevot’s guidance, the university has achieved remarkable accomplishments in education, research, innovation, the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, skill development, and academic outreach in rural and tribal areas. The university community has welcomed the extension of his term, expressing confidence that under his leadership, the institution will reach new heights.
