Udaipur, May 17: In a bid to enhance the cleanliness initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission, K.K. Gupta, the state’s cleanliness brand ambassador, held a crucial review meeting with municipal officials. The discussion focused on the city’s sanitation system, waste collection, public awareness, and a detailed action plan for the upcoming seven days.
Gupta emphasized that Udaipur would be transformed into an ideal clean city as envisioned by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. He instructed officials to launch a special cleanliness campaign across all wards, markets, tourist spots, and colonies within the next week to improve the city’s image.
‘Lake City to Become a Clean City’
Gupta stated that the identity of Udaipur, known for its tourism, is closely linked to its cleanliness and beauty. Ensuring a clean and organized environment for visiting tourists should be the municipal corporation’s priority. He made it clear that negligence in cleanliness efforts would not be tolerated at any level.
Focus on Five Key Areas
The meeting highlighted the importance of door-to-door waste collection, night sweeping, regular cleaning of public toilets, banning plastic bags, and removing litter from vacant plots. Officials were directed to ensure 100% waste collection by 10:30 AM.
Plans to Green the City
Regular cleaning of gardens like Gulab Bagh and Gordhan Sagar, operation of fountains, preventing dirty water in lakes, and a plan to plant 10,000 trees this year were also discussed. Strict instructions were given to relevant departments regarding sewage lines and waste yard arrangements.
