
Udaipur, April 24: On April 24, 2026, a captivating Bharatnatyam dance presentation was held at Central Public Senior Secondary School in New Bhupalpura, organized by Spic Macay. The performance was led by renowned dancer Samrat Dutta, a distinguished solo artist, choreographer, mentor, and researcher from Kolkata. He is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Professor C.V. Chandrasekhar.
During the event, Samrat Dutta shared insights about the dance form with the students, starting the presentation with an ‘Isha Vandana.’ Following this, he taught the students the initial steps of the dance. Through various mudras, he beautifully expressed themes such as butter theft, the flight of a bird, fear of shining, sunrise and moonrise, and the postures of a peacock. The performance, accompanied by the beats of the harmonium and tabla, mesmerized both students and teachers alike.
The school’s chairperson, Mrs. Alka Sharma, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the artists, describing the presentation as a privilege for both herself and the students.
The event was also attended by the school’s director Dr. Deepak Sharma, administrative director Mr. Anil Sharma, administrator Mr. Sunil Babel, joint director Mr. Vikramjeet Singh Shekhawat, principal Mrs. Poonam Rathore, and headmistress Mrs. Krishna Shaktawat.
