Banswara, May 21: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited Churhada village in the Kushalgarh area of Banswara district on Wednesday evening, where he engaged directly with villagers and members of the Rajivika women’s self-help group during the ‘CM Gram Vikas Ratri Chaupal’. In accordance with tribal tradition, the villagers welcomed the Chief Minister with bows and arrows.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that he was not there for an electoral rally but to understand the development needs of the villages and the issues faced by the common people. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, women’s empowerment has taken a new direction. Following the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, daughters are now achieving new heights in every field.
“Earlier husbands would stop them, now they drop them off,” he remarked.
During the event, the Chief Minister inquired about the experiences of women associated with the Rajivika group. One woman shared that initially, her husband and family questioned her decision to step outside the home, but circumstances have changed. Women have become self-reliant, earning between 15,000 to 20,000 rupees each month. With a smile, she added that now her husband even drops her off on his bike for group meetings and work.
Moved by the success stories of these women, the Chief Minister expressed that collaboration and sensitivity are inherent qualities among women. He urged them to connect other sisters in their villages with various schemes.
Traditional Welcome at Helipad
Prior to the event, the Chief Minister was welcomed by Tribal Regional Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, BJP officials, and administrative officers upon his arrival in Churhada. The program saw a large turnout of villagers, women, and public representatives.
