Leopard Attack Leaves Villager Injured, Fear Grips Local Community

Banswara, May 31: A leopard attack in Bhungra police station area of Banswara district has left a villager seriously injured, causing panic in the local community. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when Kanji (49), a resident of Bhamar Kadh village, was near a drain close to his home.

According to reports, the leopard, which was hiding in the bushes, suddenly pounced on Kanji, inflicting multiple deep wounds on his hands, legs, and other parts of his body with its claws and teeth. Hearing his screams, nearby villagers rushed to his aid armed with sticks.

Upon seeing the villagers approach, the leopard fled into the forest. With the help of his family, Kanji was quickly transported to Mahatma Gandhi District Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the surgical ward. Medical professionals have noted clear and deep marks on his body from the leopard’s attack.

The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the village and surrounding areas. Villagers are urging the forest department to set traps to capture the leopard and increase patrols to prevent such incidents in the future.
