Udaipur, May 13: In a swift response, Udaipur police have apprehended two suspects involved in a shocking murder case in the Rawo ka Sayra area of the district within just 24 hours. The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a minor altercation fueled by alcohol consumption.
According to reports, the victim, Mohanlal Meghwal, had gone to a local shop owned by Dali Bai to drink liquor. While intoxicated, he got into a heated argument with the accused, Devaram and Dali Bai. The dispute escalated to such an extent that both suspects brutally assaulted Mohanlal, leaving him unconscious on the spot.
In an attempt to conceal their crime, the accused devised a sinister plan. Believing Mohanlal to be dead, they dragged his body approximately 400 meters to his own field and placed it against a stone wall, hoping to make his death appear as a mere accident caused by a head injury.
The police team, led by Station House Officer Kanaram Sirvi, conducted rigorous interrogations of the suspects, resulting in Dali Bai (42) and Devaram (60) confessing to their crime. Both have been arrested and presented before the court, where they were remanded into custody. The police are now meticulously investigating every aspect related to the murder.
