Nand Ghar Initiative Launched for Nutritional Improvement in Dholpur

Dholpur, July 7: The Nand Ghar initiative, a significant social impact project under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, has partnered with the NGO IPE Global – Centre for Knowledge and Development to launch the Balvardhan project in Dholpur, Rajasthan. This initiative aims to enhance nutrition, health, and early education services for women and children through Nand Ghars, while also creating a model that can be replicated in other regions.

The Balvardhan project is a comprehensive program aligned with the goals of the National Nutrition Mission and aims to strengthen maternal and child health, community awareness, and engagement. It will focus on training frontline workers, enhancing their capacity with digital tools, and connecting them with government schemes.

Dholpur has been identified as a priority area due to ongoing challenges related to malnutrition, anemia, and maternal and child health. As an aspirational district, Dholpur presents an opportunity to demonstrate how strengthening grassroots service delivery can lead to sustainable outcomes through community participation and institutional coordination.

District Collector Shri Srinidhi B. T. (IAS) emphasized the need for strong collaboration among administration, communities, and development partners to reduce malnutrition and improve maternal and child health outcomes. He welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to strengthen grassroots mechanisms and support regional workers who play a crucial role in reaching the last mile.

Through this partnership, IPE Global – CKD will provide technical assistance, implementation support, and monitoring to ensure effective operation and measurable results of the program. M. K. Padma Kumar, Chief Mentor of IPE Global – CKD, expressed pride in collaborating with Nand Ghar on the Balvardhan project, which prioritizes maternal and child health in addressing malnutrition.

The initiative will focus on enhancing child development monitoring, supplementary nutrition, and ration distribution, as well as increasing awareness and behavioral change within the community. Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, stated that the Balvardhan project is a crucial step towards building strong and healthy communities through holistic and system-based interventions.

This program is expected to have a direct impact on thousands of children and women in Dholpur, strengthening the community-level nutrition and early childhood support systems. By combining Nand Ghar’s extensive reach with IPE Global’s expertise in nutrition and system strengthening, this initiative aims to develop a high-impact model that can be widely implemented in other districts and states in the future.

Nand Ghar, operated under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, is a key initiative aimed at empowering women and children through the modernization of India’s Anganwadi system. With over 14,000 centers across 17 states, Nand Ghar provides integrated services that empower women through nutrition, early education, healthcare, and skill development, currently reaching over 400,000 children and 300,000 women.
