Udaipur, July 4: Hindustan Zinc has launched a safety awareness initiative called ‘Suraksha+’ aimed at working women at its headquarters in Udaipur. The program was inaugurated on the occasion of the International Day of Women in Mining, with the objective of enhancing awareness, preparedness, and confidence among female employees.
Approximately 150 women employees participated in this hybrid session, which focused on personal safety, workplace safety, digital security, and emergency preparedness. The session was led by experts and covered topics such as personal safety, situational awareness, workplace safety rules, travel and commuting safety, cybersecurity, emergency response strategies, and self-defense techniques.
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan stated, “Women’s safety is not just about responding to incidents, but it is linked to awareness, confidence, and preparedness. Initiatives like ‘Suraksha+’ play a crucial role in empowering women to identify risks, take clear actions, and seek timely help. I appreciate Hindustan Zinc’s practical step to strengthen safety awareness among women professionals.”
The hybrid session saw participation from around 150 women employees from various locations of Hindustan Zinc, including nearly 50 at the headquarters and over 100 online. Through practical guidance, real-life examples, and interactive discussions, the session aimed to bolster safety preparedness both at work and beyond.
‘Suraksha+’ will be implemented in phases across all Hindustan Zinc locations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace for women.
