Tragic Drowning of Two Young Boys in Udaipur

Udaipur, May 24: In a heartbreaking incident in the Umarda area of Udaipur, two young cousins drowned in a deep mine while playing. The boys, Omkar Meena (13) and Kundan Meena (15), were grandsons of former village head Logar Meena. The tragedy has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire locality.

According to reports, the boys were playing near their home when they ventured towards a deep mine filled with water near the Arihant Crusher Plant. While playing, both boys slipped and fell into the deep water. Due to the depth, they were unable to escape and drowned.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local villagers rushed to the scene and informed the Hiranmagar police. Given the seriousness of the situation, a rescue team from the Rajasthan Civil Defence promptly arrived at the site.

Bodies Retrieved in Five Minutes
The rescue team, directed by Deputy Controller Deependra Singh Rathore, managed to retrieve both bodies from the mine within just five minutes. The team included divers Vijay Nakwal, Ravi Sharma, Bhawani Shankar Valmiki, boat operator Kailash Menaria, and driver Prakash Rathore. The police have sent the bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The village is currently in mourning following this tragic event.
