
Udaipur, May 14: Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) has officially appointed a new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kailash Daga. The decision was confirmed by Governor Haribhau Bagde after discussions with the state government. An official announcement regarding his appointment was made by Lok Bhavan.
The position of Vice-Chancellor had been a subject of prolonged deliberation, with several prominent candidates in the running, including Professor S.S. Sarangdevot, Professor Anand Paliwal, and Professor Seema Mallick. After extensive discussions at the search committee and state government levels, Professor Daga was deemed suitable for the role due to his experience, administrative efficiency, and working style.
Professor Daga’s appointment comes at a time when the university is facing several academic and administrative challenges. Key priorities for the new Vice-Chancellor will include expediting pending projects, improving the university’s ranking, and addressing student issues. There has been considerable local interest regarding this appointment.
It is noteworthy that the Governor has also appointed Professor Madansingh Rathore as Vice-Chancellor for Maharaja Surajmal Brij University in Bharatpur. Currently, Professor Rathore serves as the Dean of the Arts College at Sukhadia University.
