51 Congress Workers Join BJP in Udaipur

Udaipur, May 13: In a significant political shift, 51 individuals, including four sarpanchs from Gogunda-Saira, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), delivering a major blow to the Congress party in Udaipur district. BJP state president Madan Rathore welcomed the new members by draping them with party scarves during a ceremony held at Rishiraj Dham in Rawalia Kala, as part of the BJP’s Chaupal Gram Rath Yojana.

Upon Rathore’s arrival in Gogunda, BJP workers celebrated with drums, fireworks, and flower showers using JCB machines. The event, led by BJP Rural District President Pushkar Teli, saw several Congress-supported representatives from the Saira and Gogunda areas joining the BJP.

Notable among those who switched allegiance were Saira Sarpanch Union President Valaram Gameti, Saira Sarpanch Surma Ram Garasia, Karda Sarpanch Tamru Bai, and Simand Sarpanch and Ward Panch Vana Ram Gameti. Additionally, Phoolaram from Singhada, Vanaram from Semad, and Prakash Gameti from Samal were among the 51 new members.

The event was attended by various leaders, including Tribal Minister Babulal Kharadi, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Gogunda MLA Prataplal Gameti, State Vice President Nahar Singh Jodha, former MLA Randhir Singh Bhinder, and State Minister Motilal Meena. During the ceremony, checks were also distributed to beneficiaries of various government schemes.

During his visit to Udaipur, State President Madan Rathore also visited the residence of BJP state disaster relief department coordinator Dr. Jinendra Shastri to express condolences for the passing of his father, the late Lakshmichand Jain. Rathore paid tribute by placing flowers on the portrait of the deceased and offered comfort to the bereaved family. BJP media in-charge Dr. Seema Champawat reported that Rathore prayed for the family to find strength in this difficult time, with several senior leaders and party officials present to offer their condolences.
