Udaipur, May 5: Hindustan Zinc has inaugurated a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory at Maharana Bhupal Hospital, significantly enhancing healthcare services in Udaipur. This initiative was highlighted by Gulab Chand Kataria, the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, during the opening ceremony of the advanced Cath Lab at RNT Medical College.
Kataria emphasized that the government is providing all necessary facilities in the region. He noted that the modern Cath Lab, established with the support of the DMFT fund and other donors, is a direct example of the advanced healthcare services now available. Such facilities are expected to benefit the general public, and plans are underway to further expand healthcare services in collaboration with Hindustan Zinc.
The inauguration included the unveiling of a plaque and cutting of a ribbon, attended by local MLA Tarachand Jain, rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Vedanta’s Head of CSR Anupam Nidhi, Hindustan Zinc’s Corporate Finance Controller Rajeev Pitti, Head Commercial Mubarik Khan, and RNT Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur, along with senior officials from both Hindustan Zinc and RNT.
This initiative is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hindustan Zinc and RNT Hospital, aimed at developing the hospital into a multi-specialty facility to meet future healthcare needs.
The Cath Lab will utilize modern image-guided technology for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, enabling complex procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stent implantation to be performed efficiently. This facility is expected to improve the chances of saving lives by providing immediate treatment in emergency situations.
Hindustan Zinc’s CEO Arun Mishra stated, “This Cath Lab is not just an enhancement of infrastructure but a significant step towards transforming the way healthcare services are delivered. By providing better cardiac care, we aim to improve patient outcomes and facilitate access to critical treatments. We take pride in contributing to the creation of a future-ready healthcare ecosystem in Rajasthan.”
With the launch of this modern lab, residents of Udaipur and surrounding districts will no longer need to travel far for expensive treatments. This initiative will not only strengthen local healthcare services but also position Udaipur as a new hub for medical tourism. It reflects Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and increasing access to quality medical services in the region.
