
Udaipur, March 9: A vibrant cultural event dedicated to women’s empowerment was held at the Sukhadia Rangmanch in Udaipur, organized by the Shri Mewar Jain Youth Institution in celebration of International Women’s Day. The evening featured a captivating dance-drama competition that showcased the life stories of notable women from the Jain community.
The event saw participation from various women’s groups, each adding their unique flair to the performances. Organizers, including Mrs. Anjana Gangwal, Manju Gadawat, Jyotsna Jain, Archana Chittora, Kavita Sapadiya, and Usha Kunawat, expressed their satisfaction with the enthusiastic involvement of the community.
Among the participating groups were the Bhakti Mahila Manch, Digambar Jain Mahila Mahasamiti, and many others, each presenting their interpretations through dance and drama.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Mrs. Tarika Patni, Dr. Jyoti Jain, and Dr. Manju Jain, who honored several women with the Nari Gaurav Alankaran award for their contributions to society.
The institution’s patron, Paras Singhvi, welcomed attendees and highlighted the community’s commitment to celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara. Nirmal Malvi, the institution’s president, outlined the plans for the grand celebration scheduled for March 12.
The event also included a question-and-answer session and a teacher recognition ceremony held earlier in the day, where students from Jain schools actively participated.
The program concluded with an announcement of awards by the judging panel, followed by a vote of thanks from senior minister Gaurav Ganodia.
