
Udaipur, February 25: In a significant operation against illegal drugs, the Mandwa police apprehended a suspect during a checkpoint, seizing 1.861 kilograms of cannabis and an unregistered Honda Activa scooter used for transportation. The operation was part of “Operation Trinetra,” aimed at combating drug-related crimes.
Under the guidance of Udaipur Range Inspector General Gaurav Srivastava, the district police, led by Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, conducted the operation on February 25, 2026. The team, supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Gopal Swaroop Mewada and Circle Officer (Kotda) Dhungarsingh Chundawat, was led by Station House Officer Nirmal Kumar.
During the checkpoint, the police stopped Sameer Khan, son of Shabbir Khan, a resident of Chhatriya near Mukherjee Chowk in Kankroli, Rajsamand district. Upon searching him, officers discovered the illegal cannabis in his possession. The unregistered scooter used for transporting the drugs was also confiscated.
A case has been registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, with further investigation ongoing.
