Six Arrested for Theft of Construction Materials

Udaipur, February 25: The Govardhan Vilas police have made significant progress in a case involving the theft of construction materials from a building site, arresting six individuals, including the main accused. The police recovered stolen materials and cash valued at approximately ₹15 lakh. Under the direction of District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, the operation was led by Station House Officer Rajendra Singh Charan, with supervision from Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Swaroop Mewada and Circle Officer Gopal Chandel. The action was taken under case number 87/2026, sections 303(2), 317(2), and 317(5) BNS.

The incident came to light when Shambhu Lal Dangi, a resident of Feranio Ka Guda in Badgaon, reported on February 24, 2026, that iron frames and other scaffolding materials were being stolen from his under-construction site located at Balicha-Kundal. The site was being overseen by Karan Dangi, who allegedly collaborated with laborer Pushkar Lal to steal materials at different times, loading them into a pickup vehicle and selling them through brokers in the Madi area.

During the police investigation, it was revealed that Karan Dangi and Pushkar Lal sold the stolen materials to scrap dealer Ratan Lal and his son Sunil in Madi Math (Pratap Nagar), with the assistance of Laxman Nath and Bhairulal.

The arrested individuals include Karan Dangi, Pushkar Lal, Laxman Nath, Bhairulal, Ratan Lal, and Sunil, each with varying criminal records. Karan Dangi has no prior cases against him, while Pushkar Lal has a record of assault, Laxman Nath is involved in a liquor law case, and Bhairulal has multiple charges including assault and NDPS Act violations. Ratan Lal faces charges for buying stolen goods, assault, and NDPS Act violations, while Sunil has an assault case registered against him. The operation was supported by Head Constable Prahlad Patidar, Head Constable Jitendra Singh, and Constable Dinesh Singh.
