
Udaipur, February 19: A meeting regarding the Victim Compensation Scheme was held under the auspices of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority in Jaipur, chaired by District Legal Services Authority President and District and Sessions Judge Shri Gyan Prakash Gupta. The meeting was attended by M.A.C.T. Judge Bhawani Shankar Pandya, Family Court Judge Palvinder Singh, CJM Smt. Ambika Solanki, ASP Lakhan Rai, Public Prosecutor Ramkripa Sharma, and Bar Association President Jitendra Jain.
ADJ Kuldeep Sharma reported that 12 cases were resolved during the meeting, with awards amounting to ₹20,25,000 granted to victims and their dependents. Separate amounts were approved to provide financial security to the families of the victims, which will be deposited into their savings accounts and directed towards Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs). Compensation under the Victim Compensation Scheme is provided to victims and the dependents of victims in cases of rape, murder, and POCSO-related offenses.
Additionally, a meeting of the Undertrial Review Committee was conducted under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority President Shri Gyan Prakash Gupta. ADJ Kuldeep Sharma indicated that the meeting reviewed cases pending in court where the accused have served half of the maximum sentence duration and are still under consideration.
