Jaipur, February 17 : The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 31 districts of Rajasthan for February 17 and 18, warning of gusty winds and rainfall under the influence of a new western disturbance.

With the onset of seasonal winds, the weather across the state has turned dry and the intensity of night-time cold has eased. However, a fresh western disturbance is likely to become active from February 17, which may change the weather conditions in several parts of the state.
According to the department, on February 17, around 15 districts may witness gusty winds at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph along with light to moderate rainfall and thunder. On February 18, the impact is expected to intensify, with up to 31 districts likely to experience strong winds and light to moderate rain at isolated places.
Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions may receive light rainfall accompanied by thunder and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph. A slight dip in temperature is also expected, which may bring relief from rising daytime heat.
Weather experts indicate that the maximum impact of the western disturbance is likely on February 18, with strong winds and moderate to heavy rainfall possible in parts of the state from east to west.
Meanwhile, in the western plains of Rajasthan, dry conditions have pushed daytime temperatures beyond 33 degrees Celsius. Clear skies and above-normal temperatures have led to a noticeable rise in heat during the day. However, fluctuations in night temperatures continue, keeping mornings and evenings relatively cool.
