Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 to Be Slimmer with Bigger Battery

Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which will feature a slimmer design than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, along with a larger battery. According to tips and leaks, the upcoming foldable phone aims to improve user experience with a more compact body while maintaining or increasing battery capacity.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a folded thickness of 13.7 mm, whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 8.9 mm when folded. It is expected that the Flip 8 will adopt structural refinements similar to those in the Fold 7, making it more attractive and pocket-friendly.

Notably, this could be the first time in several years that the battery size remains the same or increases while the battery itself becomes thinner, addressing one of the main challenges for clamshell foldable phones – thickness when folded.

Leaks also suggest improvements in the display, though specific details are yet to be revealed. Samsung is likely to reduce the crease, enhance durability, and improve brightness and efficiency in the new foldable panel.

Performance-wise, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to continue Samsung’s move towards in-house silicon, possibly featuring the Exynos 2600 chip, which might also power the Galaxy S26 series.

The launch is anticipated in the second half of 2026, following Samsung’s regular schedule, with no current signs of delays or production issues. However, as the leak cycle has just begun, some details may change.

If the latest rumours prove true, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could offer a significantly bigger upgrade over the previous model, combining a slimmer body with better battery life and enhanced performance.
