Udaipur, June 12: A 10-day free swimming and water rescue training camp for 60 personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has commenced at Balaji Tarantal under the supervision of the district administration and Additional District Collector Deependra Singh Rathore. The camp was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Mahendra Singh (Company Commander) and guests Ramu Ram (Platoon Commander), Bhagwati Lal (Platoon Commander), and Kalyan Singh (Head Constable).

The training camp aims to equip the personnel with modern swimming and rescue techniques for effective operations during water-related disasters. Dr. Rishika Sukhwal, Director of Balaji Tarantal, highlighted that Udaipur, known as the city of lakes, faces an increased risk of water accidents during the monsoon season. Recent incidents of drowning in lakes and other water bodies have underscored the urgent need for water safety and trained rescue teams.

In line with this objective, the SDRF training camp has been organized, providing free swimming facilities, necessary resources, and trainers as part of Balaji Tarantal’s social commitment. The initiative aims to strengthen rapid and effective rescue operations during water accidents.

The training is being led by Chief Trainer Piyush Sukhwal, alongside trainers Yogesh Singh Balla, Piyush Joshi, Vipul Chaudhary (Civil Defence), Omprakash, Jabbar Singh, Dharmendra, Ramprasad, and Rakesh. The curriculum includes advanced swimming techniques, deep water rescue, life-saving skills, floating techniques, methods for safely retrieving drowning individuals, the use of rescue equipment, and practical training for quick responses in emergency situations.

Mahendra Singh, leading the 60 SDRF personnel, stated that such training will prove invaluable for rescue operations in rivers, lakes, and flood-affected areas during the monsoon. He emphasized that this training will significantly enhance the personnel’s efficiency, confidence, and disaster management capabilities, enabling them to play a crucial role in saving lives during emergencies.
