
Udaipur, April 25: A significant meeting of the Rajasthan Medicare Relief Society (RMRS) was held on Saturday to modernize health facilities at hospitals affiliated with Rabindranath Tagore (RNT) Medical College and ensure patient convenience. The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani, with participation from local representatives and administrative officials.
Six New Air-Conditioned Ambulances Announced
During the meeting, Principal Dr. Rahul Jain highlighted a critical issue where patients currently have to use stretchers to transfer between hospitals within the RNT campus, causing considerable discomfort during the hot and rainy seasons. In a swift decision for patient welfare, Rajya Sabha member Chunni Lal Garasiya announced the provision of three air-conditioned Maruti Eco ambulances from his MP fund. Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat also approved three air-conditioned Maruti Eco ambulances for hospital welfare. The estimated cost for these six ambulances is around ₹60 lakh, which will ensure safe and comfortable patient transfers within the hospital premises.
Infrastructure Strengthening through MLA and DMFT Funds
Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena announced an allocation of ₹11 lakh from his MLA fund to establish a state-of-the-art cytology lab for cancer and other disease screenings at the hospital. Additionally, a proposal for purchasing three large generator sets costing ₹2.6 crore from the DMFT fund was prepared to ensure uninterrupted medical services during emergencies such as severe storms or cyclones. This proposal will soon be sent to the district collector’s office.
New Development Proposals to be Sent to RSMML
The meeting decided to send proposals to RSMML for various hospital needs, including a modern blood donation bus to promote blood donation, a CT scan machine for the Hiran Magri satellite hospital, a special generator set for the cardiology department, and a state-of-the-art audio and microphone system for the auditorium. Divisional Commissioner Ms. Kevalramani instructed that all proposals be completed in a timely manner, prioritizing cleanliness and patient service in the hospitals.
