
Udaipur, February 19: The Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, is committed to environmental conservation. In line with this initiative, the Udaipur district administration is taking serious measures to protect and enhance the region’s hills and water sources. District Collector Namit Mehta conducted an inspection of areas including Kailashpuri, Moondwas, and Nagda on Wednesday.
During the visit, Collector Mehta, along with UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and other officials, gathered detailed information regarding illegal tree cutting and unauthorized constructions. He reviewed compliance with previously issued directives.
The Collector instructed officials to take appropriate action against any illegal constructions identified during the inspection. He emphasized that no illegal construction should be permitted in the area and directed the Tehsildar of Badgaon to maintain special vigilance.
Additionally, he sought feedback regarding the committee formed to investigate past construction activities, instructing them to present a factual report within the stipulated timeframe.
Mehta reiterated that maintaining environmental balance, preserving hilly areas, and adhering to land use regulations are top priorities for the state government, and any negligence in these matters will not be tolerated.
