New Delhi: Following allegations of negligence and collusion in the death of a property dealer, the police superintendent (SP) Yogesh Goyal has taken strict action against officials of Savina police station. The SHO Bhanwarlal Mali and constable Satpal Singh have been immediately suspended.
The action comes after a property dealer died by consuming poison on December 27 in Savina area. Accusations surfaced that the police personnel were involved in collusion with the accused and had registered a weak FIR in the case.
According to details, Kamlesh Chaudhary (36), a resident of Savina Math Marg, was engaged in the property business. About six months ago, he sold a plot to Shahid and his wife. Later, the couple began demanding their money back, citing dissatisfaction with the plot, and started threatening Kamlesh.
Distressed by constant mental harassment, Kamlesh consumed poison on December 27. He was admitted to MB Hospital in critical condition the next day, but doctors declared him dead after examination. The police registered a case against the accused couple upon receiving information.
However, the deceased’s family alleged that instead of strict action against the accused, the police registered the FIR under minor sections. This prompted a high-level investigation, leading to the suspension of the SHO and the constable by SP Yogesh Goyal.
