New Delhi, December 20 (Lake City Update). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to West Bengal and Assam today. In West Bengal, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for national highway projects worth ₹3,200 crores, while in Assam, he will launch development initiatives exceeding ₹1,600 crores.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for national highway projects in Nadia district of West Bengal at around 11:15 AM. He will unveil two national highway projects, which have a total cost of ₹3,200 crores. In the presence of Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, he will inaugurate the 66.7-kilometer four-lane stretch of the NH-34 from Barajaguli to Krishnanagar. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the 17.6-kilometer four-lane stretch of NH-34 from Barasat to Barajaguli in North 24 Parganas district.
During his visit to Assam, Prime Minister Modi will offer the state initiatives worth over ₹1,600 crores. After completing his engagements in West Bengal, he will arrive at Guwahati airport at 2:30 PM. There, he will unveil an 80-foot statue of Assam’s first Chief Minister, Gopinath Bordoloi, located outside the new terminal named after him. The new terminal, which has been constructed at a cost of nearly ₹4,000 crores, will also be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
