New Delhi, 5 January – Dushyant Johar, a 27-year-old from Yamunanagar and son of Police Special Cell in-charge Jagdish Bishnoi, has successfully trekked to the Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 metres. Along with another young man, Dushyant covered the challenging 153-kilometre journey in 11 days without any guide or external support.
The expedition involved eight days of ascent and three days for the return journey. Despite harsh weather, difficult terrain, and fatigue, Dushyant remained determined throughout the trek.
Yamunanagar Police Superintendent Kamaldeep Goyal congratulated Dushyant on this achievement, calling it an inspiration for the youth.
In a conversation, Dushyant shared that sports have always played a vital role in his life. He is a former state cycling champion and has participated in and won several marathons. Last year, he completed a tough 90-kilometre trek in Nepal, which motivated him to take on the challenge of the Everest Base Camp.
He described the journey to 5,364 metres as demanding due to oxygen shortage, cold, and continuous walking, but his passion and excitement helped him overcome these obstacles. Notably, the entire trek was completed without any technical assistance or guides.
Looking ahead, Dushyant aspires to climb to an altitude of 8,000 metres and is also preparing for the UPSC examinations to serve the country and society.
His parents, Jagdish Bishnoi and Ramkali, expressed pride in his accomplishment and urged other children to draw inspiration from his success. They also appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs, engage in sports, and pursue hard work.
