Women Honoured on International Womens Day in Udaipur

Udaipur, March 9: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, five distinguished women were honoured with the ‘Nari Gaurav’ award by the Mahavir Youth Forum’s Women’s Wing. The event took place at a private resort in New Bhupalpura, where Rajkumar Fattawat, President of the Jain Community, was the chief guest.

In his address, Fattawat emphasized the importance of women in upholding the pride of families and society. He stated that a healthy woman leads to a healthy family, society, and nation. He highlighted that women’s empowerment is essential for social change and that with determination, women can work alongside men to realise the dream of a prosperous nation.

As part of the ‘Nari Fit, Family Fit’ initiative, fitness instructors Priya Jain and Reena Bhati provided yoga and wellness advice to encourage women to maintain their health.

The ‘Nari Gaurav’ awards were presented to Dr. Shashi Chittora, Pushpa Surana, Kalpana Bohra, Asha Kothari, and Vijay Lakshmi Galundia for their contributions to social work and leadership over the past 25 years.

The programme commenced with a collective prayer led by event coordinators Sonal Singvi, Neha Kothari, Rekha Rani Jain, and Meena Talesra. The Women’s Wing President, Ritu Maru, welcomed the attendees, while General Secretary Priya Jhagdaawat presented the annual report and expressed gratitude. Neha Kothari conducted the event, which also featured remarks from coordinator Chandraprakash Choradia and General Secretary Vijay Lakshmi Galundia.
