Udaipur Police Nab Accused in Nighttime Vehicle Vandalism Within Six Hours

Udaipur: In a swift operation, police in Udaipur have identified and taken action against accused involved in vandalising nearly two dozen vehicles parked along the roadside in Swaraj Nagar (Machhla Magra) area of Surajpol police station jurisdiction during the night. One main accused has been arrested and two juvenile accomplices detained within six hours of the incident.

The district Superintendent of Police, Udaipur, Yogesh Goyal (IPS), took the incident seriously and directed prompt action. Under the supervision of Additional Police Superintendent (City) Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer Nagar Purva Surveer Singh Rathore, several police teams led by Surajpol Station Officer Ratan Singh Chauhan were formed to investigate.

Police examined CCTV footage from the scene and nearby areas, which helped identify the perpetrators. Investigation revealed that Nawaz, son of Javed Khan alias Lala (19 years), resident of Deewanshah Colony, Udaipur, along with two juvenile associates, committed the act. The trio operated as a coordinated gang involved in criminal activities.

Upon receiving information, police conducted a thorough search in the Machhla Magra hill area. Cornered, the three accused attempted to escape by jumping down the hill, sustaining serious injuries. Nawaz suffered fractures in both legs and one arm, while the juveniles sustained leg fractures.

The accused were detained and given primary medical treatment at a hospital. Following treatment, Nawaz was formally arrested, and interrogation of the juvenile suspects is ongoing.

Further inquiry uncovered that Nawaz had two prior cases registered at Surajpol police station for assault and attempted murder. One juvenile accused has three cases registered at Surajpol and Dhanmandi police stations, involving murder, attempted murder, and assault. Detailed questioning and investigation continue.

The police team involved in this operation included Station Officer Ratan Singh Chauhan, Sub-Inspector Viram Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Omveer Singh, Chatar Singh, Sharif Khan, Head Constables Ganesh Lal and Takhat Singh, and Constables Bhavesh, Banwari Lal, Pawan, Hitendra Singh, Omprakash, Abhishek, and Baboolal.
