Tarun Chugh Questions Punjab Law and Order, Demands Bhagwant Mann’s Resignation

New Delhi: The law and order situation in Punjab has come under severe scrutiny following the daylight murder of a sarpanch during a wedding ceremony in Amritsar. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticised the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and called for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s resignation.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh described the incident as a glaring example of the deteriorating law and order in Punjab. Speaking to news agencies, he said the situation has worsened to such an extent that criminals no longer fear the law. “Earlier, offenders used to cover their faces while committing crimes, but now they brazenly enter marriage venues, open fire in broad daylight, turning joyous occasions into mourning, and leave without any fear,” he stated.

Chugh emphasised that this incident highlights the complete collapse of law and order in the state, which is increasingly coming under the control of criminals. He accused the government of intimidating journalists who question such events and attempting to suppress the truth, while the ground reality remains extremely serious.

Targeting the AAP government, Tarun Chugh said, “The lives of common people have become the cheapest under the Aam Aadmi Party government. The same party that promised honest and secure governance has utterly failed to ensure people’s safety.”

He pointed out that daylight murders reflect the growing confidence of criminals in the state. Such acts during sacred and celebratory occasions are deeply concerning for society.

Chugh demanded a response from the Punjab government and urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take moral responsibility by resigning. He warned that if the situation is not controlled soon, the public’s trust in the government will be completely lost.
