Security Alert at Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi as Man Attempts Prayer Inside Complex

New Delhi. Security at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex in Ayodhya was heightened after a 55-year-old man tried to offer namaz inside the premises. The security personnel on duty promptly intervened and took the individual into custody.

According to police, the detained man has been identified as Abu Ahad Sheikh, a resident of Shopian district in Kashmir. He entered through Gate D-1 and proceeded to the Sita Rasoi area, located about 200 metres from the main temple. There, he spread a cloth and attempted to perform namaz, which was immediately stopped by the security staff.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man raised slogans when restrained, following which he was taken to the police control room within the temple complex. Upon receiving information, intelligence agencies and senior police officers became actively involved in handling the situation.

Ayodhya SSP Gaurav Grover clarified that only one person is in custody and interrogation is ongoing. Initial reports indicate that Abu Ahad Sheikh travelled to Uttar Pradesh via Bihar. CCTV footage from Ram Mandir Path, the railway station, and nearby areas is being reviewed to verify his movements and activities.

Sources revealed that while security checks on devotees are conducted at temple entry points, mandatory identity verification is not enforced, which allowed the individual to enter the complex.

As of now, neither the district administration nor the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have issued any official statements regarding the incident. Security agencies are treating the matter with sensitivity and are conducting a thorough investigation from all angles.
