On Sunday, renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra praised Rekha’s evergreen style, describing it as an embodiment of art, heritage, and timelessness.
Malhotra took to Instagram to share some photos and videos of Rekha from the Red Sea International Film Festival held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In the images, Rekha donned a stunning vintage saree in a silver-gold hue, paired with a handwoven silver tissue zari blouse and dupatta, which she carried with remarkable simplicity and grace.
In his post, Manish Malhotra stated, “Fashion may change with time, but Rekha’s style has remained constant. Her fashion has always been linked to heritage, showcasing a balance between tradition and modernity.”
He further highlighted Rekha’s affection for heirloom sarees, writing, “Rekha wears each saree like a piece of art. There is an emotional connection between these sarees and Rekha that develops only over time. Her attire sets her apart from the crowd.”
During the Red Sea International Film Festival, Rekha was honoured for her remarkable contributions to cinema with the Red Sea Honorary Award. Additionally, a restored 4K version of her classic film ‘Umrao Jaan’ was showcased, evoking nostalgia among the audience.
