Rajasthans Home Stay Sector Gaining Momentum

Jaipur, February 12: Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, emphasized the importance of the home stay sector during the ‘Pravasi Rajasthan Meet’ organized by the tourism department. Speaking at the pre-summit event, she highlighted the rapid growth of home stays in the state, noting that many residents are now opening their homes to tourists.

Diya Kumari stated that the tourism department is offering various incentives and schemes to promote home stay operators. She pointed out that this initiative not only provides employment opportunities for the local community but also allows tourists to experience Rajasthan’s culture up close.

The Deputy Chief Minister also mentioned the vast potential for adventure tourism in Rajasthan, suggesting activities like bungee jumping in desert areas, similar to successful models in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. “We are preparing a comprehensive plan to enhance adventure tourism in Rajasthan, which includes developing new tourism infrastructure in desert regions,” she said.

She assured that there is no shortage of tourism opportunities in Rajasthan, citing the presence of five sanctuaries and numerous tiger hubs that contribute to the state’s rich wildlife tourism. Diya Kumari also noted the immense potential for rural tourism, with countless villages and small towns yet to be explored. “Whether it’s Dev Mali or Barmer, the traditions, customs, attire, and cuisine here are unique and fascinating. It is time for us to move forward,” she added.

The tourism department is actively working to maximize all available opportunities, ensuring that Rajasthan remains a top destination for travelers.
