
Udaipur, February 25: In a swift action against illegal weapons, the police station in Udaipur‘s Bavlwara area has arrested a youth found brandishing a sword in public. The accused was allegedly instilling fear among passersby on the road.
Under the directives of District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, a special campaign is underway across the district targeting individuals possessing illegal weapons and creating a climate of fear among the public. On February 24, 2026, a team led by Station House Officer Ganpat Singh, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Anjana Sukhalwal and Circle Officer Rajiv Rahar, acted on intelligence reports to apprehend the suspect.
According to police reports, the accused, identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Ahari Phala Hinka in Bavlwara, was seen threatening people on the road with a naked sword. The police arrived at the scene, arrested him, and seized the sword.
A case has been registered under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
