Newborn Baby Girl’s Body Found in Mumbai’s Jarimari Area, Police Investigate

Mumbai police are investigating after the body of a one-day-old newborn girl was found in the Jarimari area, causing shock in the locality. The infant was immediately taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Initial suspicion suggests that an unknown person may have abandoned the newborn’s body in a secluded spot to conceal the birth. The Sakinaka Police have registered a case against unidentified accused and launched an inquiry.

According to Sakinaka Police, a call was received early morning reporting an unconscious newborn near the airport wall by the Muslim Society in Sevak Nagar. Police personnel on duty, along with the beat marshal team and senior officers, reached the spot promptly.

After securing the scene and completing necessary formalities, the newborn was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital. Doctors confirmed the baby was deceased and the body was sent for post-mortem. Legal procedures are underway.

Police described the deceased infant as fair-skinned, about one and a half feet in length, with a medium build and curly hair. The baby was found naked. Preliminary investigation indicates the child likely died immediately after birth.

Authorities suspect that due to social stigma, fear, or other personal reasons, someone tried to hide the birth and left the baby’s body at the location.

A case has been registered at Sakinaka Police Station against unknown persons. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and contacting local hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes to gather any relevant information about the birth. Officials say the investigation is ongoing from all angles with efforts to apprehend the culprit soon.
