
Udaipur, February 19: The seven-day Amrita Haat, organized by the district administration and the Department of Women Empowerment, was inaugurated on Wednesday under the auspices of the divisional commissioner and district collector. The fair features stalls set up by progressive women from self-help groups, showcasing a variety of handmade products useful for daily life. The event will be operational daily from 11 AM to 10 PM.
During the inauguration, Divisional Commissioner Kevalramani noted that this fair has been regularly held for several years, providing women with support for self-sufficiency and livelihood. He emphasized that the self-help group women inspire others to engage in self-employment and self-reliance.
District Collector Namit Mehta highlighted that the fair offers a better platform for empowering women and showcasing their products. He urged attendees to spread the word about the quality products available, which can enhance sales and contribute to women’s economic empowerment.
Guests at the event also visited various stalls and interacted with women from different districts, offering them best wishes. Additional Divisional Commissioner Chhogaram Devasari, social worker Chandragupt Singh, and a large number of self-help group women were present.
The fair features over 120 stalls and various competitions, making it a major attraction. Sanjay Joshi, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Empowerment, stated that the Amrita Haat includes stalls selling products from women’s self-help groups, including handicrafts, traditional items, handmade jewelry, decorative materials, organic products, spices, snacks, pickles, and a variety of food items. Cultural programs and sports competitions will also be highlights of the event.
